Experienced Working Site Foreman / Lead Builder

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Working Site Foreman / Lead Builder to join our team, working primarily on domestic extensions, renovations and general building projects across Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be an experienced all-round builder who is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a project while remaining hands-on with the construction work. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day running of domestic construction projects. Coordinate and manage subcontractors and other trades on site. Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding progress, materials, programme and any issues arising on site. Communicate professionally with domestic clients throughout the project and provide updates where required. Complete building work personally to a high standard across a broad range of construction disciplines. Read and work from architectural drawings, structural drawings and specifications. Plan and organise upcoming works to ensure labour, materials and subcontractors are ready when required. Identify material requirements in advance and communicate these to the Project Manager. Monitor workmanship and ensure all work completed by employees and subcontractors meets the required standard. Ensure projects remain on programme and raise potential delays or problems at an early stage. Take responsibility for site organisation, cleanliness and presentation. Ensure health and safety procedures are followed by everyone working on site. Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are stored safely and appropriately. Carry out quality checks throughout each stage of the project rather than relying solely on end-of-job snagging. Identify problems on site and work with the Project Manager to find practical solutions. Ensure completed areas are protected from damage as the project progresses. Assist with snagging and ensure projects are completed to a high standard before handover. Maintain a professional standard of behaviour when representing the company at customers' properties. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have significant experience within domestic construction and be comfortable working across a broad range of general building works. You should be confident taking ownership of a project and making day-to-day site decisions without requiring constant supervision. Experience should ideally include areas such as: Domestic extensions Renovations and structural alterations Brickwork and blockwork Groundworks and drainage Concrete and foundations Installation of structural steelwork Basic carpentry and first-fix works Roofing works Internal alterations External works General building and finishing works You do not necessarily need to personally complete every specialist trade, but you must have enough construction knowledge and experience to understand the work, coordinate the relevant subcontractors and recognise whether work has been completed correctly. What We Are Looking For Strong general building experience. Previous experience running or supervising construction projects. High standards of workmanship and attention to detail. Ability to manage subcontractors and other trades. Good communication skills. Professional manner when dealing with customers. Ability to read construction drawings. Good understanding of construction sequencing. Ability to organise and prioritise work. Ability to identify problems before they cause delays. Reliable and able to take responsibility for a project. Full UK driving licence. This is a hands-on position and would suit an experienced builder who is ready to take greater responsibility for running projects while continuing to work on the tools.
