Silicone Rendering
A thin-coat decorative finish, typically applied over a prepared base, with a wide choice of manufacturer colours. Silicone is not the same as through-coloured monocouche. We confirm the system for your walls after a survey — supplier product names are references, not a claim that every finish suits every property.

Silicone / thin-coat
A decorative finishing coat, usually over a prepared base. Colour is tinted by the supplier from manufacturer charts. This is a different product from through-coloured monocouche.

What is the difference between silicone render and traditional render?
Traditional sand and cement render is a conventional coat applied to a suitable substrate and is usually painted or finished as specified. Silicone render is typically a thin-coat decorative finish applied over an appropriate base. Through-coloured (monocouche) render is a different product: the colour is in the coat itself. We will explain the product proposed for your walls rather than treating every system as the same.
How long does rendering a house take?
Programme depends on the size of the elevations, how much preparation is needed, access, and weather. A small, straightforward job is a different timescale from a full house that needs defective render removing first. We confirm an expected programme after visiting the property.
Can you render over existing render?
Sometimes, if the existing finish is sound, well-adhered and compatible with the new system. Hollow, cracked or failed render is usually removed so the new coat is applied to a prepared substrate. That decision is made on site, not from photographs alone.
Does rendering require planning permission?
Changing the external appearance of a house can need planning permission, particularly in conservation areas, on listed buildings, or where the finish is a material change. Many like-for-like repairs sit outside that, but it is not automatic. We can talk through typical considerations; confirmation sits with you and the local planning authority.
What colours are available?
Silicone colours can be tinted by our supplier from manufacturer charts — JUB JUMIX, Atlas SAH and TEXO among them. Through-coloured products such as PRB SUPERBRUT have their own ranges; PRB OZÉ is listed in Neige white. The shades on this page are inspiration only. Availability and compatibility must be confirmed for the chosen render product, and a physical sample is the reliable check.
How do I maintain my newly rendered property?
Keep gutters, downpipes and cills clear so water is not sitting against the finish. Cleaning should follow the manufacturer’s guidance for the system installed — high-pressure washing is not always appropriate. We will pass on the relevant care notes with the specified product.
Do I need scaffolding?
Many houses need scaffolding or another form of safe access, especially for first-floor work, chimneys or restricted side access. Some single-storey elevations can be reached with towers or similar equipment. Access is confirmed at the survey and included in the quotation where required.
Can rendering be carried out throughout the year?
Rendering is weather-dependent. Frost, persistent rain, and very hot or windy conditions can prevent proper application and curing. We schedule around suitable conditions for the specified system rather than forcing a date that would compromise the finish.
